Some summer go-tos

Even though we just hit June, living in Maine the weather is amazing. I have already gone to the beach three times in the past week. It has just been a fantastic week here. I could not ask for anything better.

On Memorial Day, I enjoyed a day at the beach, followed by just some relaxing and hanging out with my parents. I took the night off from work to hang out with them. I couldn't have asked for better weather, or a better evening. I would say relaxing is one of my favorite activities. 

After pondering many of my new, summer inspired magazines, I have come to realize what my go-to summer items are:
   - Aviator sunglasses
   - Simple cover up dress. I found a couple of extremely simple and comfy dresses at H&M for around $12.00. Who can beat that?
   - Chic and cheap sandals that I can just slip on and off while at the beach or going inside and out.
   - Spray sunscreen. It's so easy and covers extremely well. I also use a sunscreen specifically for face.
   - At least one maxi skirt. I also live in maxi dresses throughout the summer.
   - Chapstick. I love Burt's Bees.
   - Water. Let's just say that I have quite an array of water bottles.
I would say that these are pretty simple items, but they definitely help me keep up with the summer heat. There is nothing better than summer in Maine.

helllllo warm weather and lovely products

As this Spring semester is coming to a close (finally), I have realized that I really need to and want to work on my blog. With the warm weather and sunshine finally adorning me, I need to write more! I have decided to take two summer classes this year, but they are one at a time, so I'm thinking I should be all set. So let's just say that I want this summer to be about fun, making money, and relaxation.

I have decided to compile a list of certain items that I cannot live without, whether it be summer or any other season. They are just too lovely to pass up.

I swear by this moisturizer! It is absolutely fabulous. It sinks right into my skin and I don't become oily. It also has SPF 15 so it is great for summer when I am on the go or doing something outside. At $14.95 a bottle, you can't really beat it. Aveeno makes wonderful products and I don't think that I have found something by them that I didn't like.

 I don't believe that I could live without these bobby pins. They don't move once they are put into place in my hair. For just around $3.00, you receive 50 pins, which I'm sure will last you quite awhile. I try to throw all of my loose pins into a little bowl for easy snagging. You can pick this up at any drug store, or even a grocery store.

 For most of my teenage years, I could never find the right foundation. However, a little over a year ago, I finally decided to stroll into Macy's and figure out what I should be using. I knew that Clinique has always had nice products and they are semi-afforable, and I immediately fell in love with this foundation. It lasts for ever too (well, if you're like me and use every single drop and don't lather it on) and it is at a great price: $24.00.

You have no idea how amazing this product until you try it. I have been trying to get into a skin regimen and this is my last step at night. It literally feels like silk going on to your skin. It works in the dark while you sleep and when I wake up I look refreshed and wicked alive. It is amazing. I have been using Origins products for a little over two years now, and they are absolutely wonderful. Not only are they good for the environment, they are made out of recycled materials, and their products are made with ingredients that don't have nasty chemicals in them. Although this product is a little pricey, at $37.50, but a little bit goes a long way. It lasts for ever!   Buy it here!

For $6 or $7, depending upon where I pick up this lovely mascara, I have amazing lashes. Believe me, I have tried other mascaras and for me, there is nothing like this. If you have never tried it, try it! I use nothing else.

I have recently just started using this product by Aveeno and I am impressed. Who doesn't like a nice scrub to the face? I definitely do. It is really nice because the pads have a smooth side for removing makeup, especially around the eyes, and then there is a rough, textured side that is awesome for lifting away dirt and smoothing out my skin tone. I've only been using it for about it a week, and already I've noticed the redness in my skin go down and I also have a little more glow to my face. It's simply great.




These are just a few of the products that I think are simply amazing. I use these all every day and they have yet to disappoint me.
